writing?

Writing is not a choice.
I thread words and sentences like beads on a never-ending necklace, one without an opening. It is the alliance of intention and disillusion, of hope and clarification.

Strange beads become siblings because they are placed in the same sandbox from birth, whether they are kin or not.

Writing is a whirlpool to the water wheel, a never-ending event of the mind.

photography?

Photography, to me, is a way to elude perfectionism.
It should not be constructed, but rather remain the raw result of a single second—of simply pressing the button. I leave it to the blurry, to the unframed. It is freedom.
A photograph —for a lifetime’s glance at the world, is offering itself in that fleeting instant to the eye of my camera. It should not pretend to be real, because life does not freeze.

Photography is about choice.
Out of hundreds of images, only a few are kept.
Keeping this, discarding that—
It is like the pruning of a tree. Each image, a step on a path to light.

Text and image are not necessarily related. They stand here like two temporary companions sitting next to each other on a metro ride — alike for a brief moment, strangers again the minute they step off the train.

Photographs falsify reality. By taking away time, they subvert the subjects’ truth. Writing expresses the journey of our lives and doubts. Therefore, they can only coexist like water and oil poured into the same bucket.

Nothing makes sense—because I don’t want it to. Or perhaps because I want it not to.
